Francois Hollande and Segolene Royal lived together for around 30 years and had 4 children although never married.\u00a0 They split up in 2007,\u00a0 both wanted to be president of France.<\/p>\n

Segolene Royal was adopted as socialist presidential candidate, which probably didn’t help their relationship.\u00a0 It probably didn’t help either Francois Hollande started a relationship with Valarie Trierweiler (aka Rottweiler).<\/p>\n

It seems Hollande and Trierweiler first met in 1998 and began their relationship in 2005 whilst Treierweiler was still married and Hollande was still living with Royal.<\/p>\n

News media last friday and over weekend have been full of stories of Valarie Trierweiler being so shocked at learning of Hollande’s affair with Julie Gayet she was hospitalised.<\/p>\n

Why should she be?\u00a0 Both Trierweiler and Hollande have ‘form’.<\/p>\n

What interests me about this story is the media, principally Sky News, have not mentioned Segolene Royal at all!<\/p>\n

Surely this is a material fact.<\/p>\n

Didn’t someone once say<\/p>\n

He who controls the past controls the future<\/em><\/p>\n

Seems to me this is just one small example of media’s extremely selective reporting.<\/p>\n

Are they trying to control what we all think?<\/p>\n

I don’t know, but it doesn’t matter they’re doing it anyway.<\/p>\n

As a side note Hollande is due to meet Pope Francis on 24 January 2014, I wonder what they’ll talk about!<\/p>\n
