Walton Mere Footpath 48 A Result – Feb 2014

December 2012 a new fence blocked a path by Walton Mere. February 2014 Essex County Council recognised the path as public footpath.

In this post Norrth Street to Vicarage Lane or Mill-Lane a public right of way? I described how the erection of the fence led to applications to Essex County Council for the path to be recognised as a public footpath.

Feb 2014 Gazette reports ECC has decided the path is a public footpath, so I guess at least part for the fence has to come down.

Residents seem happy

Curious Tendring District Council seemed happy to see the fence erected on what locals claim is public land.

Seems TDC displaying much the same disregard for public land as in their plan to lease Naze to Essex Wild Life Trust, despite much public oppostion.
